Alto Adige’s Bassa Atesina offers an impressive variety of nature and landscapes. Situated in the sub-Mediterranean climate zone, the region enjoys on average 200 hours of sunshine in April. While the valley basin is nearly totally covered by orchards, the hills are populated by vineyards, cypress trees and colourful mixed forests. Green woodlands reach to an altitude of 1,800 metres above sea level, giving way to lush meadows and the peaks of the Mendel mountain range.
